The scheduler in Eclipse maintains calendars of scheduled events and tasks for Eclipse users. In addition, you can use the scheduler to determine where other users are working and when they are available for meetings. During your work day, you might frequently be away from the Eclipse system, and use Microsoft Outlook's calendar functionality to schedule your meeting and appointments. Syncing your Outlook calendar to Eclipse allows other Eclipse users to see your schedule, and determine when you are available.
Important: When you sync your Microsoft Outlook calendar to Eclipse, the system deletes any events you had scheduled in the Eclipse scheduler, and replaces them with your Outlook calendar appointments. |
To set a user to use Microsoft Outlook calendar information in Eterm:
From the System > System Files > User Control menu, select User Maintenance to display the User Maintenance screen.
In the User ID field, enter the ID of the user you want to set to use calendar information and press Enter.
Use the Addl hot key and then the Scheduler hot key to display the Scheduler Parameters screen.
In the Allow Outlook to Control Schedule field, enter Y.
Press Esc and save the user record.
To sync calendar appointments from Microsoft Outlook to Eclipse:
From Microsoft Outlook, select the Eclipse > Synchronize with Eclipse menu to display the Eclipse Synchronization window.
Select Calendar Appointments and click Start.
The system deletes your scheduler information in Eclipse and replaces it with the appointments in your Microsoft Outlook calendar.
