To create a laminate product record:A laminate product is purchased and sold in sheets of various sizes. Even though the product is the same, create a unique product record for each size of the laminate product.
When you create the unique laminate product records for each size of laminate, identify the different product records as one laminate type with a product number. Assign this laminate product number as a keyword in each product record.
For example:
The Hollyberry laminate product has a matte finish and is sold in .030" thickness.
The color code for hollyberry is D307.
The code for matte finish is 60.
The vertical grade for .030" thickness is 355.
In the Additional Key Words field, enter D30760355 as the laminate product number for each Hollyberry laminate product record.
You can then use the laminate product number to search for all sizes of the laminate product. This search capability is useful in locating a larger sheet of laminate when the same laminate in a smaller size is out of stock.
For example:
A customer requests Laminate Product A, which is sold in 36" x 36" sheets. Laminate Product A is out of stock, but Laminate Product B is the same type of laminate in sheets of 36" x 72". You can select Laminate Product B and divide it into two 36" x 36" sheets, and then sell one of these sheets to the customer.
To create a laminate product record:
From the Files menu, select Product to display the Product Maintenance screen.
Create a new product record for the laminate product.
In the Additional Key Words field, enter a laminate product number to identify the product record with other sizes of the same laminate product.
Use the Add'l hot key and then the Misc Product Info hot key to display the Miscellaneous Product Information screen.
In the Width field, enter the width of the laminate product in inches.
In the Length field, enter the length of the laminate product in inches.
In the Depth field, enter the thickness or grade of the laminate product in inches.
Press Esc to save changes and exit the screen.
