Use the Windows Direct option to download reports to a file. File access is restricted by levels in User Maintenance using the WIN.DIRECT.CREATE.DIR authorization key.
Note: The high level download directory is created during installation and cannot be changed. An error message displays if the directory to which you are trying to download does not exist. To create a new directory path, please contact Eclipse Support.
Display the report driver screen for which you want to download data. For example, from the Purch >Reports menu, select Overdue POs to display the Overdue POs screen.
Complete the fields for the report as usual. Press F11 from each individual screen to access online help specific to that report.
Use the Options or Opts hot key and select Windows Direct to display the Windows Direct Options screen.
If you are not assigned the WIN.DIRECT.CREATE.DIR, the Windows Direct option is not available to you.
In the Windows Folder field, enter the name of the folder in which you want to save the file. If the folder does not exist, the system prompts you with the following message: The specified folder does not exist. Do you want to create it? (Y/N). Type Y to continue.
Your authorization level in the WIN.DIRECT.CREATE.DIR authorization key determines whether you are able to create directories or subdirectories.
In the File Name field, enter the name of the file you want to use for the report.
The system checks the file name for any special characters not allowed in Windows files, and whether the file name already exists in the folder listed in the Windows Folder field. If you choose to overwrite an existing field, the system sets the Force Overwrite field to Y. If you choose to not overwrite an existing file, the system assigns a unique file name.
In the Export Format field, press F10 and select the format in which you want to export the file. For a complete description of the formats available, see Downloading Reports.
In the Force Overwrite field, indicate if you want to overwrite the file in the folder if you have a previous file saved with the same name.
In the Export Heading field, indicate if you want to include the heading of the report in the exported data.
Press Esc to return to the report screen.
Run the report per instructions.
