Solar Eclipse includes a logging feature that records the following:
Errors and activity as you work in the system.
System information, such as the operating system and Solar Eclipse version.
Application server errors and activity.
Logging event information helps your on-site system administrators and Eclipse support personnel troubleshoot if you encounter issues when using Solar Eclipse.
Error log files exist for the Solar Eclipse client and the application server on which Solar Eclipse runs. You can set the Solar Eclipse client error logging level in your user preferences and you can view and clear the contents of the log file at anytime directly through the Solar Eclipse user interface.
The application server error logging level is configurable only by Eclipse personnel or system administrators at your site. You cannot view the server log file using the Solar Eclipse user interface. For more information about viewing the application server log file, see Viewing the Solar Eclipse Server Error Log.
