Restricting Customers to Specific Ship Via Route Types

If necessary, you can restrict the ship via route types that a customer is authorized to use for their orders. For example, you might determine that you only make rush or overnight deliveries to only top customers who are in good credit standing with you, or only to customers that have established special delivery agreements with you.

If you do not enter any route type restrictions for a customer, they are eligible for all route types assigned to the ship vias within their zip code.

Note: Valid route types are set in the Valid Ship Via Route Types control maintenance record.

To restrict a customer to specific ship via route types:

From the Maintenance menu, select Customer to display the Customer Maintenance window and display the appropriate customer.
From the Additional menu, select Additional Customer Information to display the Additional Customer Information window.
In the Eligible Ship Via Route Type field, enter the route type this customer is authorized for in sales order entry. Click the Multiple button to select multiple delivery types.
Save your changes and exit the customer record.
