When a customer has been set up for check authorization you can then take payment by check for their account. Before using, consider the following control maintenance records:

If your company uses thumb print approval, use the
To authorize a payment by check:
Create or open a sales order and display the order's Totals tab.
In the Check field, enter a payment amount.
Note: Your branch must be setup to accept personal or company checks. The system alerts you if that set up is not complete.
If you are set up to scan checks, use the Scan Check option and then scan the check. The system populates the Check Number, Routing Number, and Account Number fields.
If your company uses thumb print approval, use the thumb print pad to verify the customer's ID.
If you are not set up to scan checks or if you have scanned your check but your company requires more information than what scanning the check provides, enter the required information for each of the fields listed.
Click Authorize to pre-authorize the check.
The Approval Code field displays the approval code you received from your check processing company.
Note: If you need to void a check from a customer after it has been authorized, use the Void option.
