GENRL MSGS (Messages) Control Maintenance Records
The following control maintenance records belong to the MSGS (Messages)
area within the GENRL (General) category.
Bulletin Board Options
New
in Release 9.0
Use to turn on and off the bulletin board messages and indicate if you
want to restrict users from using the Enable
Bulletin Board check box in the Bulletin
Board tab of the Solar
Preferences window from the Solar Eclipse main window control panel.
Days Before Messages Purged
Enter the number of days, 0-9999, a message can stay in a user's message
log before being purged. The default is 15 days.
Deposit Message On ACH Remittance
Enter the free form text you would like to include in system-generated
e-mails and faxes regarding electronic funds transfers for remittances.
For example, you might indicate the time period it typically takes to
deposit these types of remittances.
Maximum Number Of Messages
Enter the maximum number, 0-9999, of messages the system can retained.
If the maximum is reached, the system removes the oldest messages to make
room for the newest ones.
Notify When Control Record Changes
New
in Release 9.0.1
Enter the users you want to be notified when control maintenance record
options and settings change. Use the System Activity Log Viewing window
to research what records were changed, when, and by whom.

To research the control maintenance record changes:

From the System
> System Programming > System Maintenance menu, select
System Activity Log Viewing.

From the File
> Selection menu, select Selection
Criteria.

In the Pattern
field, enter CONTROL and
click OK.
The log window displays those records that were
changed:

To drill in to the
control maintenance record and investigate the settings, right-click
on the Comment and select View Cross-References.
Note:
If a control maintenance record name displays with asterisks (*) around
the name, you cannot drill into it from this log view.
Notify When Tracker Is Closed
Indicate whether the system sends a message to all the users on the
forward list when a user closes the tracker using the Close
option.

Solar Message Notification Options
New
in Release 9.0
Set parameters globally at the company level for receiving standard
message notifications, the position and duration for which messages display,
and if you want to receive phantom messages.

Disable
Standard Message Notifications

By
default, Eclipse pops up a message on your desktop that displays
on top of all other windows to alert you a new message is
available. If you select to disable this notification, only
the message counter on the Message Queue display in the User
Control Panel updates with the correct number of unread messages.
No other alert is given.
The Default is No.

Notification Duration (in seconds)
|
Indicate in seconds how long you want
the popup message to display when a new message appears. You
can increase this duration if you want more time to respond
to messages as they come in.
The Default is 20 seconds.

Select where on the desktop display
of your monitor you want new notification messages to display,
such as Bottom Right, Top Right, Bottom Left, etc.
The default is Top Right.

Phantom Message Notifications

Indicate if you want to stop the message
notifications for the phantom processes. Your message count
retains any phantom processes unless you have the Phantom
Notification in Message Count field set to No.
The default is No.

Notification Duration (in seconds)
|
Indicate in seconds how long you want
the popup to display when a new phantom message appears. You
can increase this duration if you want more time to check
which phantom has completed as they come in.
The default is 3 seconds
