The Epicor Payment Exchange securely processes credit and debit card payments for Epicor ERP systems such as P21, Kinetic, BisTrack, and others.
When you process a payment with the Epicor Payment Application, the only thing that your ERP system stores is a token. This token is a unique string of characters that replaces the actual credit card number, which means sensitive data never enters your Epicor ERP.
In the application, this token works like a coat check. When you charge a credit card, your Epicor ERP submits the token to Epicor Payment Gateway along with a charge request. Epicor Payment Gateway receives the token, matches it to a credit card, and processes the transaction.
The Epicor Payment Application requires no data entry or end of day batching; everything happens automatically. Also, because it cuts out all third parties in the credit card payment process, you enjoy reduced payment processing fees.
As you learn about and install the Epicor Payment Exchange credit card integration, you'll come across a number of acronyms and components. Here's what they are, what they mean, what they do, and how they all work together.
At a high level, the flow of information on a charge is: EPF embedded within your ERP > EPA > EPG > Epicor Payment Exchange.
