A cut group is a way to define whether cuts are parallel cuts, single cuts, or stack groups. Cut groups initially are set up to have least a single cut group and have that cut group set up as the default in order entry.
Single Cuts - Define cut changes and reel options for each group.
Parallel Groups - Used for cutting wire, these group cuts are for the products on a group together so that they can ship out together. These cuts are usually simultaneous to ensure the cut is exactly the same. Any options selected for parallel groups, flow to the products defined for that group.
You can set up parallel groups based on how many parallel spools could be on a single sales order. Having these predefined will save time during the order entry process. You can also create duplicate parallel group in order entry. If needed additional groups can be created on the fly, by duplicating the current group. This would be just for that order and the group would not have any cut changes or reel options available.
Stack Groups - For parallel wire cuts, you can have multiple layers of wire on the same spool called Stacks. Defining a Stack group allows you to keep track of the layers and options that can be associated to the stack and limit the number of spools you are distributing.
