Eclipse leverages Price Sheet Entry logic for product dimension pricing. In order to price filters, dampers, or steel studs, you must create global basis names for the dimensioned products. Using Price Line Maintenance, map the product dimension global basis names to a local basis in each price line that contain dimension products. Mapping the global basis names to local basis names is crucial for the pricing matrix for the filter, damper, and steel stud base products' pricing structure you set up. When the system is using matrix pricing and if it is with a dimensioned product, the system first checks the basis from the matrix cell. Cost override matrix cells can also be set up using this same logic.
The system uses the price dateof the order to determine the product dimension values for pricing. The system usesship dateof the order to determine the produce dimension values for costing..
Note: Product dimensions are not supported in Strategic Pricing as of Release 8.7.5.
To create the product dimension global basis names:
From the System > System Files menu, select Control Maintenanceto display the Control Maintenance window.
In the Filter Description field, type global and select Global Buy/Sell Basis Namesto display the control maintenance record details.
In an empty User-Defined Global Basis fields, enter DIM-LIST and DIM-COST:
Click Save to save your entries.
To map the product dimension global basis names in a price line:
From Maintenance > Price Maintenance menu, select Price Line to display the Price Line Maintenance window.
In the Price Line ID field, enter the price line to which you need to map the product dimension basis names.
In the Global Basis table, insert DIM-LIST and DIM-COST and the associated local basis names for each.
Above, DIM-LIST is mapped to LIST and DIM-COST is mapped to REP-COST. When matrix pricing takes place with a dimensioned product, the system checks the basis from the matrix cell. For example, if the matrix cell is set as LIST +5, then the system uses the dimensioned list as the basis for the price. The system then calculates the base product pricing set up in Dimension Product Maintenance and uses that calculated value and adds 5% (+5) to the value. Consequently, if the dimensioned price base is determined to be $10, then the price on the order should be $10.50 ($10 + 5%).
Save your changes and exit the window.
