Performing RF Immediate Replenish Tasks

Use immediate replenishment to restock locations with quantity shortages that occur during warehouse operation.

For example, Allan needs to pick an order that contains 20 small widgets. The system directs Allan to location 01-02-A to pick the widgets, but there are only 15 small widgets in the location. Allan picks the 15 small widgets that are there and then informs the system that there is a shortage in the location by queuing an immediate replenish task. The system sends the immediate replenishment task to Stephanie, who is responsible for replenishing locations. Stephanie can replenish location 01-02-A from a storage location holding additional small widgets. Once Stephanie has replenished the location, Allan can return to 01-02-A and pick the remaining five small widgets, as needed.

Allan picks the 15 small widgets that are there and then informs the system that there is a shortage in the location. The system immediately queues a replenishment task so that another user can replenish location 01-02-A from a storage location holding additional small widgets. Once the location is replenished, Allan can return to 01-02-A and pick the remaining 5 small widgets.

If you are defined in the system as personnel who is responsible for immediate replenish tasks, your hand-held terminal beeps when immediate replenish tasks queue.

You follow the same basic steps in performing immediate replenish tasks as you do in daily replenish tasks. The only differences in the two processes are how you select the task and which screen you use to complete the task.

Like the Replenish Pick screen, the Immediate Replen screen provides two methods for picking and replenishing:

Note: If the RF Enable Tote Validationcontrol maintenance record is activated, you must scan a tote and use it to transport the product in its final location.

In addition to these replenish methods, set the following two control maintenance records so that you can have multiple users performing the picking and put away steps of replenishment.

For example:

You have Frank picking all replenish items and John putting away all replenish items. Frank picks the items and places them in a temporary location. John then takes the items from the temporary location and puts them away in their permanent location.

To perform immediate replenish tasks using a tote:

  1. From the Warehouse Management > RF Applications > RF Main Menu > Misc menu, select Immediate Replen to display the Immediate Replen screen.

Note: If prompted, log on to the character-based system.

The system displays your picker ID in the PID field.

  1. In the Br field, edit the branch in which you want to perform the immediate replenish task, as needed.

  1. Use the Slct hot key to select the task.

  1. Perform the immediate replenish task as you would a daily replenish task using a tote.

To perform immediate replenish tasks without using a tote:

  1. From the Warehouse Management > RF Applications > RF Main Menu > Misc menu, select Immediate Replen to display the Immediate Replen screen.
