Use the Windows Direct options to download reports to a file. File access is restricted by levels in User Maintenance using the WIN.DIRECT.CREATE.DIRauthorization key.
Note: The high level download directory is created during installation and cannot be changed. An error message displays if the directory to which you are trying to download does not exist. To create a new directory path, please contact Eclipse Support.
To download a file with Windows Direct:
Open the report for which you want to download data. For example, from the Purchase > Reports menu, select Overdue POs to display the Overdue POs window.
Complete the fields for the report as usual. Press F11 from each individual screen to access online help specific to that report.
From the Options menu, select Windows Direct to display the Windows Direct Options window.
In the Windows Folder field, enter the name of the folder in which you want to save the file. If the folder does not exist, the system prompts you with the following message: The specified folder does not exist. Do you want to create it? (Y/N). Type Y to continue.
Your authorization level in the WIN.DIRECT.CREATE.DIR authorization key determines whether you are able to create directories or subdirectories.
In the File Name field, enter the name of the file you want to use for the report.
The system checks the file name for any special characters not allowed in Windows files, and whether the file name already exists in the folder listed in the Windows Folder field. If you choose to overwrite an existing field, the system sets the Force Overwrite field to Y. If you choose to not overwrite an existing file, the system assigns a unique file name.
In the Export Format field, select a format. For a complete description of the formats available, see Downloading Reports.
In the Force Overwrite field, indicate if you want to overwrite the file in the folder if you have a previous file saved with the same name. The default is No.
In the Export Heading field, indicate if you want to include the heading of the report in the exported data. The default is No.
Click OK to return to the report window.
Run the report per instructions.
