You can edit a sales order to ship to a different address. This is useful when you need to ship an order to a customer job site, for example. You can select from a pre-defined list of addresses or, if authorized, edit ship-to addresses from order entry. You must be assigned the SOE.ALLOW.ADDR.CHANGE authorization key assigned to edit new ship-to addresses on accounts that have the Ship to Address Changes Restrictedcheck box selected.
If you will be shipping frequently to the different address, you can use Customer Maintenance to create a new ship-to account for the customer. You can then choose that account when creating new sales orders. All the address and other information is automatically entered on the order.
You can also use the New option to create a new alternate address. This option opens Customer Maintenance to the Alternate Ship-To Address window for the customer. You can add to the list that provides users a list of pre-defined list of addresses from which to select when changing the order's ship-to address. You can manage this list and activate or deactivate addresses, as needed. For more information, see
To ship an individual order to a different address, you can edit ship-to at any stage of the order, as described here.
To ship an order to a different address:
In the Ship To area in the upper-right corner, click Edit. The Change Ship To window displays.
In the Customer field, enter a new ship-to customer, if applicable.
In the Address, City, State, and Zip fields, enter the new delivery information.
The system populates the Country based on the ZIP code entered.
Click OK to update the ship-to address.
Complete the order as usual.
