If you know basic details about an order, you can use the Order Search window in Sales Order Entry to locate it.
Note: If your company is using Eclipse Forms, you can create snapshots of your orders. For more information, see Creating Order Summary Snapshots in the Eclipse Forms documentation. For information about purchasing Eclipse Forms for your company, please contact your inside salesperson.
To search for a sales order:
From the Orders menu, select Sales Order Entry to display the Initial Order Entry window.
In the Branch field, type the number that identifies the branch that receives credit for the order.
In the Customer/Order # field, enter all or part of the customer's name to do one of the following:

select the customer from the list and press Enter to display the order selection list. |
Select Search from the list and press Enter to display the Order Search window.
Complete any of the following fields.

Order |
The letter S followed by a series of unique numbers that identifies the sales order. |
Customer P/O |
The number the customer has assigned to this order for tracking purposes. Note: If only non-alphanumeric characters are entered, duplicate POs are not recognized. |
Address |
The address to which to ship the requested items. |
Product |
A keyword or phrase that identifies a product on the order. Click the Select button to the right of the field to search for recently accessed products. |
Customer Release # |
The customer release number is a control code the customer assigns to an order for tracking purposes; for example, to identify a specific job or area within a branch. It is assigned in addition to the PO number. |
Line Item Release # |
The line item release number is a control code the customer assigns to a product for tracking purposes. It is assigned in addition to the purchase order number. |
Branches |
Enter a number that identifies the branch or enter ALL to search all branches. |
Start Date and End Date |
Enter a date range to find orders that were created within a specified period of time. |
In the Order Types area, select an order type, if needed:

Click OK to display orders that fit the criteria you selected.
Select the desired order from the list that displays.
