Using Communication Profiles

After creating the communication profiles required for your system needs, these profiles can then be used throughout the system on any screen that calls FTP Transfer Maintenance, such as the report driver Options menu or the Hold File Print Options screen.

Communication profiles are optional, however using them ensures that your transmissions are processed accurately to the correction locations. You can also load a profile and modify the information for a single-transmission override.

For more information about how these options work for reports, see Report Options and Printing in the Solar Navigation online help documentation.

To display the FTP Transfer Maintenance window:

  1. Do one of the following:

  1. Complete the FTP Maintenance fields, as needed.

A communication profile is optional. If you have a communication profile set up, you can select a profile to populate the remaining fields. Based on the communication profile you select, the options on the window change due to protocol requirements.

Important: You must set up a profile for any secure transactions. If you use the FTP Transfer Maintenance window and do not load a profile, then the system sends the information over standard FTP.

  1. If you select a profile and want to change it, clear the field to display a complete list of available profiles.

  2. Click OK.
