If your company uses the Document Imaging companion product, you can attach images to a product's record that display with the product description on your web site. When the product displays on your web site, the system displays the attached image.
Before attaching an image to a product, create and store the image in a subdirectory of your web site or in a virtual subdirectory on another dedicated imaging server. For better performance use your web server.
When using Document Imaging for product images:
Enter that Storage ID in the Default Documentation Storage Location ID For WOE control maintenance record.
Attach an image to a product using the procedure below.
To attach an image to a product:
From the Maintenance menu, select Product and display the product to which you want to attach the image.
From the User Tools > Imaging menu, select Index Images.
Select the file you want to attach and click Open to display the Attachment Indexing dialog box.
In the Document Profile field, select the profile for web images.
Enter any additional information in the Attachment Indexing window, then use one of the following buttons:
Index - Copies the image file to the storage location, but deletes the image file from the directory from which you selected it in step 3.
Index Without Delete - Copies the image file to the storage location and leaves the original file on in the directory from which you selected it in step 3. This is the safest choice, if you are not sure whether to delete the original.
Save your changes and return to the Product Maintenance window.
