As you are receiving products, you may have new products or overflow products that do not have an assigned location in your warehouse. Use Product Location Entry to find open locations, or locations that might have additional space. You can also use this feature to create and delete locations in your warehouse.
To find open locations in your warehouse:
From the Warehouse Management > Warehouse Maintenance menu, select Product Location Entry to display the Product Location Entry screen.
In the Branch field, enter the branch at which you are looking for an open location.
In the Location field, press F10 and select a location.
The number of different items in the location displays at the bottom of the screen.
Note: To create a new location, click New or select New from the F10 list and enter the location ID at the Enter New ID prompt.
Select a product listed and click Product Location Maintenance to view the product in Product Location Maintenance and view other locations that product is stored.
If your authorization level in the PRD.LOCATION.MAINT authorization key is less than level 2, you can only view products in an location using the Products hot key. You cannot delete a location.
Click Delete to delete a location from the system.
If any item in that location has an on-hand quantity, the system does not allow you to delete the location. Click Product Location Maintenance to view the product in Product Location Maintenance and move products to other locations before deleting.
Click Refresh Products to view any new products that may have been added to the location while you have been viewing the information.
